While driving, you’ll pass the magnificent Koolau Mountain Range, hit up the stunning treeline of Haʻikū Valley, and literally drive by all of the sites associated with Hawaii’s most famous exports: pineapples and luau. Highway 3 You’ll get to watch planes taking off and landing, with a gorgeous Hawaiian landscape in the background. There’s also a parking lot at the very end of the road. It’s the perfect instagrammable spot in Oahu! Just think of incredible views of teal-colored water dotted with dozens of small lush islets. While it lasts just 5 minutes by car, it really is worth the trip. Lagoon Drive is the perfect way to kickstart your Hawaii vacation, because it’s a super short drive. In just a short while, you’ll also have a view of the airport as you drive along the coast. The closest Oahu scenic drive, once you’ve landed at the Honolulu Airport, is Lagoon Drive.Īfter driving under a highway overpass that was originally built in 1914, you’ll find that Lagoon Drive quickly turns right at an intersection.
